Official 50 State Quarters Program-Formation of the Union Set

Thirteen small separate colonies declared their independence from Great Britain, in 1776. Delaware was the first colony to officially join the newly established Union, and in 1790, Rhode Island became the 13th. These events and many others that occurred between 1774 and 1792 set the course of American history. The Formation of the Union Set tells this story with photography of many of the coins utilized prior to the establishment of the U.S. Mint, plus fascinating images of rare, historic archival records.
